Booties
Materials: l/2 oz baby yarn, l/4 oz cc color
Size 5 ndls, 2 st holders
Gauge: 5 st and 8 rows=1"
Cast on 20 sts with mc
Rows 1 - 8: k2, p2 rib
Row 9 - Kl, *yo, k2tog, rep from * end k1
Row l0 - knit
Place first 7 sts. and last 7 sts on holders
Working n center 6 sts for instep: attach cc
Rows l & 2: knit
Rows 3 & 4: purl
Rows 5 & 6: knit
Row 7: purl
Rows 8 & 9: knit
Row l0: purl
Rows 11 & 12: knit
Row l3: purl
Row l4: knit, cut cc yarn
Right side facing, slip right=hand 7 sts onto same ndle as instep sts.
Foot:
Row l: with mc, knit 7 sts, pick up and knit 7 along side of instep,
knit the 6 instep sts, pick up and knit 7 sts along second side of
instep, knit 7 sts from second holder (34 sts)
Rows 2 - 10 knit
Row ll - kl, k 2tog, k 10, k 2tog, k 4, k 2tog k 10, k 2tog, k l
Row 12 - purl
Row 13 - k l, k 2tog, k 8, k 2tog, k 4, k 2 tog, k 8, k 2tog, k l.
Row l4 - Bind off or work sts of in kitchner st.
Seam sole if you bound off. Seam back seam. Sew in all ends.
Use l0" of contrasting yarn or crochet a l0" chain to lace thru eyelets.
They are fast and
easy to make, and oh so cute.

Cap: CO 52sts. work in 2-2 rib for 4 rows
(right side) Row 5: drop mc, attach cc, purl across.
Row 6: cc, k2, p2 across, cut cc & pick up Mc, Row 7: purl across.
Row 8: k2, p2 across
Row 9 - 20: Mc, work in 2-2 rib.
Row 2l: (rt sde) drop mc, attach cc, knit across.
Note: ths will be the opposite as the first stripe because of turn up on the first.
Row 22: k2, p2 across with cc.
Row 23: drop cc, pick up mc, knit across.
Row 24: k2, p2 rib across
Row 25 & 26: Repeat row 24.
Repeat rows 2l thru 26 two times
Repeat 25 & 26 one time
Row 4l: *k2, p2tog, rep from * across.
Row 42: *kl, p2, rep from * across.
Row 43: *k2, pl, rep from * across.
Row 44: rep row 42
Row 45: *k2tog, pl, rep from * across.
Rows 46, 47, 48: *kl, pl, rep from * across.
Row 49, K2 tog across
Cut yarn and draw thru sts. Fasten securely, Sew seam down center back. Last l/4" of seam reverse the right side to accommodate the turn up of the cap.
