SERVICES

NARFE membership provides legislative representation to protect our retirement income, health care benefits, COLAs, fairness and equity issues and more. NARFE is your representative on Capitol Hill.

SERVICE OFFICERS

These Service Officers can : help in the taking of proper action to obtain and retain annuities and survivor, health and federal group life insurance benefits; assist with problems involving programs managed by OPM; help expedite paper work for such items as death benefits, change in marital status and federal income tax withholding: and obtain information about programs of other agencies such as social security, veterans administration and other services for senior citizen.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to any person who is or will be eligible to receive an annuity or a survivors annuity from any agency of the Federal or DC governments including Retirees, Employees, Former Employees, Spouses and surviving spouses of persons eligible to join NARFE. The wrong impression that NARFE is solely for retired federal employees has prevented many concerted workers from joining the one organization that is devoted exclusively to protecting your present and future retirement annuities and benefits.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

NARFE's effectiveness in fighting unfavorable changes in the civil service system is directly dependent upon the size and unity and its national membership. We need to recognize, as a political fact of life, our elected government representatives generally understand and respond to numbers, unity of purpose and organization that is devoted exclusively to protecting your present and future retirement annuities and benefits.

WHAT IS NARFE DOING FOR YOU

NARFE's objectives are to:

Sponsor, support or oppose legislation to protect the benefits and general welfare of its members on issues such as health benefits, retirement income, etc.;

Inform members about legislative issues, primarily retirement income and health care benefits, taxation and COLAs:

Strengthen the political influence of current and future federal retirees through NARFE-PAC, a political action committee;

Cooperate with other organizations seeking to accomplish similar goals;

Work in partnership with the Office of Personal Management to answer questions related to retirement benefits, and Foster public recognition and appreciation of government service;
